║ DO Doorwork Software Official Beta Site Form ║
║ (C) Copyright 1991 by Mike Capp, DO Doorwork Software ║
║ Last Revised on August 20th, 1991 ║
╙────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╜
I. MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT
We would prefer that you are at least 21 years of age, but in some
cases will make an exception. We will *NOT* accept anyone under
the age of 18 years.
II. MODEM REQUIREMENTS
We suggest that you run at least a 9600 baud modem due to the fact
that quite often large amounts of data will be transmitted between
our systems. Lower baud rates will not be disciminated against,
but please be aware of the cost you will encounter.
III. BBS REQUIREMENTS
We at DO Doorwork Software support the Shareware concept.
Therefore, any BBS wishing to become a DO Doorwork Beta Site must
not conduct any illegal activities of any kind on his/her BBS.
The primary purpose of a Beta Site is to test the software. This
can be done more efficiently if your system is active as long as
possible. Therefore, you are required to run your BBS 24 hours a
day. FidoNet National Mail Hour is the only exception to this
rule. If your system will be done for any length of time, you
are required to contact a representative of DO Doorwork Software.
When a new public version is released, you are expected to alert
the SysOps in your general area that use this that the newest
version is out, and tell them about the new features and of
course put it online for downloading at NO COST.
To become a Beta Site, you must already be running the software
full-time on your system and there must not be a current Beta
Site in your area. Thanks.
IV. DO DOORWORK SOFTWARE CONFERENCES
As mentioned earlier, you will be required to carry all echos
related to DO Doorwork Software. This includes the private Beta
echos and public echos available from my system. These are to
report any bugs you may encounter, or ideas for a future release
software.
V. DISTRIBUTION OF DO DOORWORK SOFTWARE
You are required to have DO Doorwork Software available to all
users with no UL/DL restrictions. This includes, no
discrimination against other baud rates, exception of 300 baud.
You also must make all DO Doorwork Software available by FREQ
as the MAGIC filename listed in the documentation. Example:
NDOOR - Newuser Doorworks! v5.03 Public Release
This is required because we want all software released by DO
Doorwork Software to be distributed as widely and to as many
systems as possible.
VI. YOU MUST SUPPORT YOUR USERS AND FELLOW SYSOPS
This includes SysOps that are running any DO Doorwork Software
programs or *ANYONE* using ANY DO Doorwork Software that is
having difficulties. You must help them to the best of your
knowledge, and if you cannot solve the problem, you must inform
us and we will see to it that the problem is solved.
VII. YOU MUST ATTEMPT TO RECRUIT PEOPLE TO DO DOORWORK SOFTWARE
Keep in mind that you are *NOT* expected to push DO Doorwork
Software up other people's noses and stuff like this. All that
is expected is that you let everyone know all of it's good
points and that it is available from you. A lot of users who
would like to use the software don't because they are afraid of
the unknown. You must explain to them how easy they are to
operate and that it will help them. (This goes for all software
developed by DO Doorwork Software).
VIII. YOU MUST NOT DISTRIBUTE BETA-ONLY FILES TO OTHERS
This includes all Beta versions of DO Doorwork Software you will
receive. All beta copies will have your name and registration
number embedded into them. If yours get out, we will know
where it came from and you will be instantly dropped as a beta
site.
